MapleNet is a new "client/server" system developed by Waterloo Maple to allow you to use the power of Maple together with custom-made user interfaces through the web. In other words, anyone could use applications (applets) created for MapleNet without having Maple installed on their computer. We currently support the following applets:

  • JCalc, which provides a spreadsheet approach to using Maple that students will hopefully find a lot easier to use than the 'regular' Maple program, and that should be appropriate for any math student up to the Calc 3 level
  • Gaus Jordan, which lets students discover how to solve systems of linear equations
  • zMap, which lets you create graphs of complex-valued functions
Note: Our MapleNet applets all require the "Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 1.4" or better and a current version of a web browser. You can download the JRE by visiting www.javasoft.com.

The MapleNet applets developed at Seton Hall were supported by a generous grant from Waterloo Maple and TLTC. The source code for all MapleNet applets is available by request.
