This applet draws the graph(s) of one or more functions and helps you explore the relationship between modifying the graph of a function and its corresponding algebraic representation. First, start the applet by clicking on the button above (it may take a few seconds). You will be able to enter up to four functions on the right side of the window that appears, and click on Apply to see the graphs of the functions you have entered. Use the buttons in the main window to shift the viewing window containing the graph(s) up/down/right/left, and the "zoom" buttons to zoom in and out as you want. Click on Controls to bring up the "Controls" dialog, which is at the heart of this applet. You can move the graph up, down, right, and left, as well as expand or contract your function. Each time you must specify which function to modify, the amount by which to modify it, and then click on Refresh S.I.G.V.P to actually perform the manipulations. The result of your manipulation will be visible graphically as well as algebraically after refreshing your main window. For more information, click on the Help button in the main window.
